Brass

We use a 60:40 copper:zinc lead free high tensile brass, more commonly known as 'Muntz Metal' for our fasteners.  This alloy has a superior tensile strength to many of the common brass alloys.

The Muntz metal alloy has a deep rich yellow patina when the fastener is new or polished.  If allowed to age, it will developed a yellow hued brown tone, akin to antique brass, and is the recommended option for fastening antique brass hardware.

As a lead free product, it is safe for use in plumbing and potable water applications.

This alloy is US EPA Registered Antimicrobial registered, making it ideal to fasten high touch high risk hardware and fittings, reducing the risk of residual bacterial contamination in screw drives and threads that cannot be thoroughly cleaned.
